AMC Mecanocaucho® continues to strengthen its portfolio of vibration isolation solutions with the addition of two new helical wire rope mount designs, now available on our website.
These new references expand the existing range and provide additional flexibility for engineers and designers, offering more options in terms of geometry, load capacity and deflection characteristics. They have been developed to cover a wider variety of applications where robust shock and vibration isolation is required, particularly in harsh operating environments.
General drawings
To support the design and selection process, the general drawings for both new references are already available online.

What are helical wire rope mounts?
Helical wire rope mounts are vibration and shock isolators made of stainless steel cables arranged in a helical configuration and clamped between metal retaining bars. This design allows the mount to dissipate energy through the bending and friction of the wire ropes, providing effective isolation in multiple directions.
Unlike traditional elastomer-based mounts, helical wire rope mounts do not contain any rubber. As a result, they are highly resistant to extreme temperatures, oils, chemicals, UV radiation, and aggressive environments. They are also maintenance-free and offer stable performance over time, even under severe dynamic loads.
Thanks to these characteristics, helical wire rope mounts are widely used in applications where durability, reliability, and multi-directional isolation are critical.
Key benefits of helical wire rope mounts
- Excellent vibration and shock isolation in multiple directions
- High fatigue resistance and long service life
- Corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction
- Suitable for extreme temperatures and harsh environments
- Maintenance-free solution with consistent performance
Elastic Properties Available
To support our customers during the selection process, we have also added the elastic properties and load-deflection curves for both new references.
Load-deflection curves for both new references.
These charts provide detailed information on the behaviour of the mounts under different load directions:
- Compression
- Traction (tension)
- Radial load
The curves clearly indicate both the maximum static load and the maximum shock load, allowing a fast and reliable evaluation of stiffness, admissible deflection, and operating limits.
With these two new references and their complete technical documentation available online, AMC Mecanocaucho® reaffirms its commitment to delivering robust and engineered vibration isolation solutions adapted to the evolving needs of the market.
Typical applications
Helical wire rope mounts are commonly used in applications where equipment must be protected against vibration, shocks, and dynamic loads, such as:
- Industrial machinery and compressors
- Pumps, generators and power units
- Rail and transportation systems
- Military and defence equipment
- Marine applications and offshore installations
- Sensitive electronic equipment and control cabinets
- HVAC units and mechanical installations
- Heavy-duty equipment exposed to impacts and harsh environments
