DSD Vibration Isolator

Flexible and cost-effective vibration isolator, particularly suitable for vibration isolation of fans, HVAC equipment, and machinery subject to horizontal vibrations.

The AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® DSD Vibration Isolator provides high radial and axial flexibility, making it particularly suitable for vibration isolation of machinery and equipment subject to horizontal vibrations.

Its design consists of two parallel metal plates connected by a bowl-shaped rubber element, bonded to both metal parts. This geometry provides good flexibility while ensuring stable mounting of the equipment.

The circular upper plate incorporates either a through hole or a nut, allowing the vibration isolator to be attached to the machine. The elliptical lower plate features two mounting holes for attachment to the supporting structure.

Thanks to its flexibility, simple design, and cost-effectiveness, the DSD is particularly suitable for fans, HVAC equipment, and other industrial machinery requiring effective vibration isolation.

For applications requiring a higher level of vibration isolation, DRD Vibration Isolators are recommended.

Technical characteristics

AMC-Mechanocaucho® DSD mountings have comparable stiffness rates vertically and horizontally making them very effective against random vibrations in either plane.
Operation and Assembly
Both metal parts are fully bonded to the dome shaped circular rubber section during moulding. The rubber section works in compression when loaded. In the event of shock inputs or accidental overloads the mountings will deflect vertically and horizontally, absorbing the shock energy. It is highly recommended that the metal caps shown below are used on the assembly to produce progressive stiffening under dynamic load inputs . Attachment of the mounts to the support structure can either be by the use of Set Screws, Bolts or by adapting the support structure to have studs securely fixed to the floor as in the case of concrete slabs. For applications where high vibration isolation is needed , DRD mounts should be considered as the alternative.
