Acoustic isolation for timber and CLT buildings
High-performance acoustic isolation for mass timber construction

Transmission paths to be treated
In arder to properly isolate wooden structures from unwanted noise and vibration, the four transmission paths above must be considered:
Direct through the slab
From the wall through the slab
Straight through the wall
From the slab through the wall

NEW STUDY PRESENTED AT FORUM ACUSTICUM MALAGA 2025

SUSPENSION CEILING - LIGHT WOODEN STRUCTURE
We have carried out various tests in certified laboratories to demonstrate the benefits of using acoustic mounts. In these tests, we compare the results of rigidly installed ceilings against suspended ceilings with rubber and Sylomer mounts.

COMPARISON RIGID CEILING WITH SAND/ROCK WOOL VS ELASTIC
Comparative tables of German laboratory ift ROSENHEIM where noise impact and airborne noise of the wooden ceilings with sand and rock wool filling with and without AMC supports are compared.

EFFICIENCY OF THE AKUSTIK + SYLOMER LINES AT LOW FREQUENCIES
Andreas Rabold from IFT Rosenheim carried out an study called “Trittschalldämmung richtig bewerten” to evaluate the correlation between the value of Ln,w according to DIN EN ISO 717-2 and the subjective perception of impact noise on wooden ceilings.

LABORATORY TEST RESULTS FOR LIGHT WOOD STRUCTURES
In order to show the acoustic advantages when using Akustik+Sylomer® Floor mounts and Akustik + Sylomer® Super T60 acoustic hangers in a light wood construction, an independent external technological center has performed impact and airborne noise tests using different configurations in light wooden structures.

AKUSTIK + SYLOMER MOUNTS IN DOWEL-LAMINATED TIMBER (DLT) STRUCTURES
Different tests have been carried out using different solutions for the floating floor from a naked structure to an installation with several cement board layers with our floating mounts.

AKUSTIK + SYLOMER® CHANNEL CLIPS IN TIMBER JOISTS CEILING
This article shows the laboratory tests results for different suspended ceiling installations in timber joist ceiling structures.

REFURBISHMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN GERMANY
The impact noise level requirement of 46dB was not being fulfilled with the existing installation.
