LABORATORY RESULTS FOR THE AKUSTIK SUPER T-47 & T-60 + SYLOMER® ACOUSTIC HANGERS
The results obtained during the test that AMC Mecanocacho® has carried out in its laboratories show the difference between the resistance under tensile loads for the Akustik Super + Sylomer® acoustic hangers, both with and without the security screw installed.
The Akustik Super + Sylomer® acoustic hangers from AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® have been designed for the suspension of suspended ceilings.
In the tests carried out at AMC Mecanocaucho´s laboratory of Asteasu two different ways of fixing between the Akustik Super + Sylomer® acoustic hanger and the T profile (T-47 and T-60) have been compared under tensile loads, one solution using the security screw to fix both elements and the other without using it.
The test have been carried out according to the following protocol:

All hangers have been tested with the Hounsfield Universal Testing Machine.

The distance between the fixing points of the profiles (T-47 and T-60) and the lower profile has been set at 115mm.

An incremental vertical tensile load has been applied at a constant speed until each of the test samples has failed.
The obtained results for each of the tested acoustic hangers are shown in the picture below:
It can be seen that, for both cases, the configuration in which the hanger and the T profile were fixed with the security screw was able to withstand a higher load before breaking. This effect is more noticeable for the Akustik Super T-47 + Sylomer® acoustic hanger, where the difference between both solutions would reach 1500N (150kg).
In all the analysed cases, the first element to fail has been the T profile (for both the T-47 and T-60), so it can be assured that the metallic parts of the Akustik Super + Sylomer® acoustic hangers are able to withstand tensile loads of over 350kg before breaking.
Analyzing the maximum values, the tests show that, when using the security screw, the maximum load that the Akustik Super + Sylomer® T-47 acoustic hanger is able to withstand is around 500kg while the maximum load the Akustik Super + Sylomer® T-60 acoustic hanger is able to withstand is around 350kg. Considering that these mounts are designed for a maximum allowed load of 75kg (in their Sylomer® version with highest density), the security factors would be 4,67 for the T-60 and 6,67 for the T-47.

Technical characteristics
The AKUSTIK SUPER T-47 + SYLOMER® and AKUSTIK SUPER T-60 + SYLOMER® acoustic hangers for ceilings are manufactured in four special mixes of Sylomer® to adapt better to the load of each application. Their natural frequency at the optimum loading point would be under a 10Hz.
Their rugged metal parts withstand can tensile stresses from 650 kg to 1000 kg. They are supplied with an anticorrosive treatment that can withstand the toughest environments.
