One of the most remarkable features of the NP-3 vibration isolator is its specific design that allows for preloading during the assembly process. This preload design ensures that the mount is very stable, even when tensile loads are involved. This feature is particularly useful in applications where stability is important. The metal parts are robust and can be supplied with a washer that acts as a fail-safe device to resist tensile forces, making it even more reliable in high-stress applications.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® type NP antivibration mounts has a double bonded design to withstand to high dynamic forces. The top side of the mount allows a 2-step compressive behavior, in which the mount has a quite linear stiffness until the second step enters in action. At this second step, the stiffness is much higher, which helps to limit the movement of the suspended element. This two-step behavior is especially useful in mobile applications where movement needs to be limited to avoid damage to the equipment or machinery.

Another benefit of the NP-3 vibration isolator is that it is composed of a single part, making it easy to install and cost-effective. Additionally, the mount is available in three different high-quality natural rubber hardnesses: 45Sh, 60Sh, and 70Sh. The load-deflection curves of these mounts clearly show the two-step behavior:

Being a preloaded mount, it means that once assembled its shape changes :

This means that when tensile loads are present, which is a very usual situation in dynamically high demanding applications, the bottom buffer stops the system very quickly keeping it stable.

APPLICATIONS

The AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® type NP antivibration mounts has numerous applications in mobile equipment and machinery, including on-board equipment in ships, rail, and road transport, such as engines, pumps, generator sets, and even tractor cabs. These mounts are exposed to compression and tensile forces, making them ideal for mobile applications where external vibrations and shocks are inevitable. The NP-3 vibration isolator provides stability and protection, ensuring that equipment and machinery are well-protected and can operate optimally even under challenging conditions.

In conclusion, the AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® NP-3 vibration isolator is an exceptional solution for mobile applications where stability and protection are of utmost importance. Its unique design, high-quality natural rubber hardnesses, and double-bonded structure make it reliable, cost-effective, and easy to install.
