NEW PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION FOR A CLEANER PRODUCTION, AVOIDING THE EMISSION OF 240 TONNES OF CO2

It has been five years since AMC Mecanocaucho® expanded and renovated its facilities, adding new renewable energy infrastructure.

The first steps of the environmental policy started in 2015, when AMC Mecanocaucho® obtained the ISO 14001 certificate. This is an environmental management certificate for the production of vibration isolators. In order to continue along this path, 360 photovoltaic panels were installed to take advantage of sunlight.

Photovoltaics produces renewable energy directly from solar radiation. This energy does not produce any pollution and will therefore help to reduce gas emissions.

In addition to this, four years ago, AMC Mecanocaucho acquired the company responsible for the manufacture of its metal parts, allowing parts to be sourced locally and an improvement in quality, manufacturing times and transport times.

This year the installation of 875 new solar panels has been completed, capable of generating more than 60% of consumption with green energy

AMC Mecanocaucho® has generated more than 420,000 kWh of clean energy, avoiding the pollution equivalent to 2,400,000 Kg of CO2, 257 barrels of oil or the daily consumption of more than 43,476 houses.
