AMC-MECANOCAUCHO is expanding its range of solutions for marine exhaust systems with the introduction of
expansion joints,
complementing our existing range of flexible mounts for the elastic suspension of exhaust lines.
This addition responds to an increasingly common requirement among shipyards, system integrators and exhaust system manufacturers:
having a single supplier capable of providing both the anti-vibration mounts and expansion joints required for the proper operation of the complete system.
In marine exhaust systems, the control of vibrations and movements caused by temperature variations must be considered together.
Flexible mounts provide elastic suspension of the exhaust line, reducing the transmission of vibrations to the vessel structure.
Expansion joints, on the other hand, are designed to absorb the movements and thermal expansion generated during operation,
reducing the forces transmitted to engines, manifolds, silencers, piping and supports.
Combined sizing of flexible mounts and expansion joints
AMC-MECANOCAUCHO already has extensive experience in the calculation of marine exhaust suspension systems,
determining the appropriate selection and positioning of anti-vibration mounts.
The main advantage of this product range expansion is that AMC-MECANOCAUCHO can now provide the
engineering and sizing of the complete solution, combining flexible mounts and expansion joints.
Our engineering team can analyse the configuration of the exhaust line and define a complete solution taking into account:
- the distribution and selection of the flexible mounts;
- the movements generated by thermal expansion;
- the positioning and selection of the expansion joints.
A single supplier for the complete exhaust solution
With this new product range, shipyards can request from AMC-MECANOCAUCHO a
complete technical and commercial proposal for the entire package of flexible mounts and expansion joints,
simplifying the specification and procurement of the different system components.
Available in a wide range of sizes
The expansion joints are available in a wide range of sizes, from DN 100 to DN 600,
with flanged connections and different configurations depending on the required thermal expansion capacity.
Sizes up to DN 2400 are also available upon request.
