MRI floor vibration isolation

Distribution of Sylomer® densities for floor vibration isolation

The floor vibration isolation system is designed using different Sylomer® densities according to the load distribution in each area. The MRI scanner requires higher-density materials beneath its support points, as do the perimeter zones supporting the Faraday cage structure. Lower-density materials are used throughout the remaining floor area, optimizing the overall performance and deflection of the isolation system.

Reinforced insulation under the MRI

The area where the MRI machine is located concentrates the highest loads, requiring a reinforced insulation system. At this point, specific supports are incorporated, combined with higher density Sylomer®, capable of working under high loads without losing elastic properties. This configuration allows for a low natural frequency and effective vibration isolation. Additionally, it ensures the stability and precision necessary for the proper functioning of the equipment.

MRI Floor Vibration Isolation

MRI floor isolation systems are engineered using different Sylomer® grades selected according to the load distribution across the installation. Higher-density grades are installed beneath the MRI scanner and along the perimeter supporting the Faraday cage, while lower-density grades are used throughout the remaining floor area. This optimised load distribution provides uniform static deflection, maximises vibration isolation performance and ensures the long-term stability of the MRI installation.
