AKUSTIKABSORBER damping materials are designed to dissipate vibrational energy in panels and rigid surfaces, particularly metal structures, in order to reduce radiated noise. Unlike sound absorption materials, their primary function is not to absorb airborne sound, but to reduce structural vibration at its source.
Thanks to their viscoelastic properties, these materials convert part of the vibrational energy into heat, thereby reducing panel resonances and radiated noise. Depending on the application, they can be used independently or incorporated into multilayer systems combining damping, acoustic isolation, and sound absorption.
Available in different thicknesses, surface masses, and configurations, they are particularly suitable for machinery enclosures, casings, sheet metal panels, ventilation ducts, industrial enclosures, vehicles, and marine applications where panel vibration contributes to the overall noise level.
