AMC MECANOCAUCHO HAS DEVELOPED AN AKUSTIK FLOOR MOUNT TEST PLATFORM TO ENABLE IMPACT NOISE MEASUREMENTS IN SITU
This portable test platform simulates the installation of the Akustik Floor Mounts, it has dimensions of 50x50cm and a weight of 20Kg.
It is made of different elements:
- 4x AMC Akustik Floor Mounts 25mm.
- Rock wool sheet.
- Plywood board of 15mm.
- Fiber cement board of 20mm.
- Fiber cement layer of 10mm.
- Agglomerate board of 15mm.
- Floating parquet of 8mm.
This test platform is ideal for acoustic engineers that want to make an impact noise test in situ inside a building. This test can be carried out in an old building which requires renovation or even in a new building which is partly constructed. The improvement in impact noise isolation than can be gained from AMC Mecanocaucho acoustic floor mounts can be easily demonstrated.
Different acoustic tests have been carried out in external laboratories to fully understand the performance that can be achieved with the Akustik + Sylomer® floor mounts, a high reduction of impact noise can be obtained (up to 30dB):

The Akustik Floor Mounts are ideal for both new buildings or for renovations of old buildings in which acoustic isolation is required.
The Akustik + Sylomer® floor mounts are made in different Sylomer® densities and thickness values so they can better adapt to the loads of each application. The natural frequency obtained at the optimum loading point can reach below 12Hz. These technical properties provide a high acoustic and vibration isolation level when used in wooden structures.
Furthermore, their metallic base has a range of screw fixing holes, when used with wooden floor beams this allows a high range of levelling to the installation.
As a general rule these vibration isolators are usually installed every 0.5 meters. However, this feature can be adjusted to adapt to the load or the target natural frequency of the application.
Chipboard or plywood coated wood battens allow a variety of finishes and can accept most types of floor coverings.
