The AKUSTIKABSORBER PAIM range has been developed for applications requiring effective sound isolation combined with high surface resistance to industrial contaminants, splashes and other external agents. It consists of a non-fire-resistant open-cell polyurethane foam, with an aluminised glass fibre technical facing on the exposed side and a heavy mass layer bonded to the rear.
This multilayer construction provides three complementary functions: the foam contributes to airborne sound absorption, the rear heavy mass acts as a sound isolation barrier, while the front facing provides mechanical and thermal protection. The system is particularly suitable for acoustic enclosures, machinery housings, technical enclosures, ductwork and passage areas, where noise must be controlled and material durability is essential.
Although PAIM does not provide fire-resistant properties, its high sound isolation performance makes it particularly suitable for areas without specific fire requirements, but where acoustic performance and resistance to wear are required.
