Gyms are places with high level of activity. They house several machines that require to apply force and movement on them, and the impacts generated due to these movements are transmitted to the structure if they are not properly elastically isolated.
AMC offers solutions for different gym machines, which can be seen in the next link:

One of the activities that can be source of structure borne noise is the use of boxing bags.
Boxing bags hang usually from a structure that is anchored to the wall. AMC proposes a solution that consists in elastically isolating the connection between the wall and the structure of the boxing bag. Depending on the details of each installation, the solution might vary, but the concept is the same.
2 different solutions are explained below:
OPTION 1: Floating slab on Sylomer®
The slab provides inertia to the structure, which makes the system more stable and absorbs part of the vibrations.
Sylomer® is a microcellular polyurethane specially conceived to isolate structure borne noise.
Sylomer® is available in different densities, each one with its own load capacity and elastic properties. To determine the optimum density of Sylomer®, a calculation must be carried out. Anyway, the most typical density in this type of application is a 25mm thick layer of Sylomer® SR-11.
The thickness of the Sylomer® plays a major role in the isolation of the system. A higher thickness provides a higher noise and vibration isolation. El grosor del Sylomer® juega un papel importante en el aislamiento del sistema. Un mayor espesor proporciona un mayor aislamiento de ruido y vibraciones.
Sometimes the system might be quite unstable, as it does not have any fixation point in its top side. Due to this, CB or TF rubber to metal vibration isolators can be added to the top side of the structure to improve its stability.
OPTION 2: Rubber to metal vibration isolators
It is the simplest option, and the rigid connections are replaced by elastic connections using rubber to metal vibration isolators.
The typical mounts for this purpose are CB and TF mounts:
| CB |

1. Wall
2. Mount 1
3. Clamp Plate
4. Mount 1
5. Anti rebound washer

The thickness of the clamp plate is fixed for each model, and it depends on the specific model selected.
The mounts at the bottom are the ones that withstand the weight of the structure and the boxing bag, while the lateral mounts have the function of stabilizing the system.
During the assembly, the bottom mounts are installed first so they deflect under the weight of the structure. Once the bottom mounts are deflected the lateral stabilizer mounts are installed.
