AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® Vibration isolation engineering since 1969.
AMC-MECANOCAUCHO started on the Late 60’s, with humble means but with a great will to develop and settle on a country that was eager to get industrialized.
Spanish machine building sector was starting to face vibration problems and required reliability in order to compete on European markets. Machine wear was greatly reduced when mounted with anti vibration mounts . But the selection of the correct vibration isolator model was important to get reliable machines.
Being Spain an autocracy, engineers had many difficulties to get hold of reliable vibration analysis equipment. This vibration measurement equipment was at this time produced exclusively in advanced countries.
As a part of the AMC-MECANOCAUCHO service, customers across Spain, were getting engineering services by the founder of the company, Mr José Miguel Lopetegui. These services consisted on making 1 or 6 degrees of freedom calculations and vibration measurements , using equipment as the one described below.
TREYSIT SIROMETER.
Produced in Germany, using a Treysit Sirometer was very simple. Placing it tightly on the outside case of the running motor, this device could us let know the rpm of a machine or the natural frequency of a metal bracket.
Turning the top part of the Sirometer it emits a piece of wire. When the wire is in resonance with the vibrations of the machine it will show it by vibration. When the wire reaches the resonance point the RPM and frequency can be read. The upper scale shows RPM and the lower scale shows cycles per second. To get familiar with it, it was tested on a motor with known RPM and adjustment to the Sirometer to the scale was necessary.

For those nostalgic that want to get hold of one of those elements, they can still be purchased ( http://www.treysit.com/english/order/ ) .
DAVEY HAND VIBROGRAPH
Produced in New York, this equipment allowed to record a vibratory signal by placing a pointer to the vibratory equipment.
The Davey hand vibrograph could allow the user to know instantaneously the displacement magnitude with an opening and a ruled magnifier. The Stylus could mark the signal darker or lighter depending on the “Stylus pressure”.
Some of these antique equipment can be still purchased on internet on second hand purchase webs.
DISPLACEMENT MEASUREMENT DISC, by « Compagnie pour la fabrication des compteurs et materiel d'usine à gaz »
Manufactured in Montrouge, France, this device was vec displacement measurement device.
This equipment is unique nowadays. Some of these can hardly be seen on the web.
Working from a very small workshop with limited means, Mr Jose Miguel Lopetegui, started to do vibration measurements at his customers premises with the help of his motorcycle.
50 years later, AMC MECANOCAUCHO produces his own vibration measurement equipment with proprietary software at no cost or year maintenance. 12, 6 or 3 channel Vibration measurement equipment accommodate the economic and technical needs of the user. More information on this link: LINK
For those that have a reduced budget, they can use the Vibration Isolator pro accelerometer for only 300€.
