Levelling Shims
Modular shims for stable and accurate levelling of marine engine mounts. For fine adjustment, they can be combined with Hi Sec height-adjustment systems.
The AMC-MECANOCAUCHO® levelling shims are designed for the levelling and height adjustment of marine engine mounts, allowing the installation height to be adapted in controlled increments.
They can be used individually or combined to achieve the required height. Where fine and precise adjustment is required, they can be used together with Hi Sec height-adjustment systems.
The shims are manufactured from steel with an anti-corrosion treatment, providing good resistance to the demanding conditions found in marine environments.
Technical characteristics
These shims avoid using the traditional height adjusting studs. The traditional levelling systems are subjected to cyclic bending moments and are exposed to eventual ruptures.
As a result of it most of the marine certification companies do not recommend to use height adjusting studs. Reference is made to DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV) rules for ships / high speed craft –issue January 2016, Pt.4 Ch3 Sec.1 F202. This requirement is referred to rigid mounting, but is considered applicable to this topic.
